Noch ne Ananas -Pineapple reloaded

Es ist wieder Zeit fürs Bloggers Quilt Festival.
Diesmal möchte ich einen meiner Lieblingswandquilts mit Euch teilen.

This time I want to share one of my dearest "wallies" with you:



Actually it's not my newest one and not the most beautiful of my quilts but it is a true eyecatcher on the living room wall for many years now without boring me.

With a little help of Quilt Smart it was made in a breeze.
Hand quilting required more time.



I look at it often and think of my dream of going to Hawaii some day to visit not only vulcanos and beaches but to look at those brilliant handmade Hawaiian Quilt Beauties in person.
Meanwhile there is another pineapple quilt in the making.
For the living room table.
I actually found a bright orange pineapple batik as focus and border fabric and am now quilting it in the few quiet moments left.
Perhaps the Hawaiian dream will come true...............Aloha!




Es ist nicht mein neuester und auch nicht mein schönster, aber mein treuester Quilt, denn er hängt nun seit fast acht Jahren im Wohnzimmer an derselben Stelle und zieht dort die Blicke auf sich.

Schon immer mal will ich mal nach Hawaii.
Die Ananas soll dort das Symbol für Gastfreundschaft sein.
Mit Hilfe von QuiltSmart- einer mit dem Muster bedruckten aufbügelbaren Vlieseline- habe ich mich ans Werk gemacht und diesen (halben) Hawaiianer in relativ kurzer Zeit genäht, das Quilten per Hand war aufwändiger.

Ich schaue ihne mir immer wieder gerne an und träume natürlich immer noch von einem Trip nach Hawaii, den Vulkanen, der tropischen Flora und natürlich will ich auch einmal die echten Hawaiiaischen Quilts im Original sehen.



Bis dahin ist noch ein weiterer Quilt in der Mache für den Couchtisch. Dazu habe ich für außenrum auch einen Ananas Batik gefunden:)
Ihn quilte ich gerade in den seltenen ruhigen Minuten.
