Quilt festival

Again it is time for a worldwide blogger's quilt festival hosted by Amy

Inspiration galore

and many more reasons to join in

I show you one of my first original patterns quilt , "Asters" feat. Valori Wells'big asters from her "Ecclectic" line

-an all time favourite of mine which I love and want to redo from time to time in new fabric combos.

It is not so big just "49 x 62"- perfect for a weekend sewing.

I started with choosing a large print and try to use up all those fat quarters with checks and stripes, tonals and dots in the same colourway.

so I made one in pink for summer nights

in blue for my friend Ursel

in rust, one which is still in my "to handquilt pile"

and the updated 2009 version with "Kirman orange" by Kaffe Fassett as feature fabric

which snuggles against the rust one.

I'd like to make one with black background fabrics. And you?

Christiane,
Thanks for coming to visit my blog and leaving a comment.
I do love your beautiful colorful quilts. I think black would set off these colorful blocks beautifully.
Enjoy the show.
Warmest regards,
Anna

Wow! They're all so beautiful. I think my favorite one is the one in rust -- which is saying a lot 'cause I really love blue!

Nice seeing all the different colorways. I think I would try making one in different shades of purple for my daughter.
